Tobin Breaks Program Record as Quakers Compete at Baldwin Wallace Friday

(BEREA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's track & field competed today in an unscored Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet at George Finnie Stadium on the campus of Baldwin Wallace University.

Noah Tobin led the Quakers by setting a new program record in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase with a time of 9:22.84, breaking George Rickett's record of 9:26.92 that he set in 2022. He finished 11th in the race. Also competing in the event and shattering his personal best of 10:12.52 was Tyler Parks, who broke the 10-minute mark for the first time at 9:58.81.

There were four Quakers competing in the Hammer Throw. Nathen Borgan finished fourth in the event with a mark of 62.01m on his fourth throw. Jarrett Durr took sixth with a personal best mark of 61.13m on his third attempt. Nate Marcum finished with a distance of 51.25m on his third throw, while Justin Shuga fouled on his attempts.

The High Jump saw Brady Vilvens finish sixth with a clearance of 1.97m on his second attempt. Simon Heys finished 11th in the 1,500 Meter Run with a time of 3:52.42, just missing out on breaking his program record time of 3:52.04. Tate Yoder started the 5,000 Meter Run but did not finish.

What's Up Next

The Quakers compete in one more meet next weekend before the Division III National Meet. They are at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet in Alliance, Ohio at the University of Mount Union on Thursday, May 16th.
