WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team concludes the calendar year with a trip to Alliance, Ohio for the Mount Union Holiday Classic on Dec. 29-30.

The Schedule: The Fightin' Quakers will face Lycoming at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Wilmington was supposed to face Geneva College (Pennsylvania) on Thursday at 1 p.m., but the Golden Tornados withdrew from the event due to COVID-19 protocols. The classic is looking for another team to replace Geneva.

The Teams: Wilmington and Lycoming. The Fightin' Quakers are 2-7 overall having most recently fallen to nationally-ranked the University of Mount Union 89-71 on Dec. 17. The Warriors stand at 6-4 having defeated King's College (Pennsylvania) 88-63 also on Dec. 17.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 15th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Mike McGarvey is in his third season as Lycoming's head coach.

The Players: A trio of Quakers - Jeffery Mansfield, Bilal Sow and Obed Achirem - score in double figures with Mansfield leading the way at 14.4 points per 40 minutes. Achirem averages nearly a double-double with 9.7 rebounds while Mansfield is second on the squad with 6.6 boards per game and the leader in assists with over four per contest. A quartet of Warriors - Steven Hamilton, Matt Ilodigwe, DeAundre Manuel and Dyson Harward - score in double figures. Haward averages a double-double with 10.5 boards per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 68.4, Lycoming 68.9; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 74.4, Lycoming 67.8; field goal percentage – Wilmington 37.6, Lycoming 41.4; three-point percentage – Wilmington 29.0, Lycoming 31.3; free throw percentage – Wilmington 66.7, Lycoming 68.5; rebounding margin – Wilmington -3.2, Lycoming +5.4; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.92, Lycoming 0.90.

Recent History: Wilmington is 1-0 against Lycoming since becoming an NCAA Division III member in the early 1990s. The one win over the Warriors came in the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament as the Fightin' Quakers took a 78-74 win at the Washington University Field House in St. Louis, Missouri.
