WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team hosts Heidelberg University for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest on Saturday. Tip-off from Fred Raizk Arena for 4 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Heidelberg. The Fightin' Quakers are 4-13 on the season and 2-9 in conference competition after a 68-64 defeat at home to Ohio Northern University on Wednesday. The Student Princes are 13-3 overall and 8-2 in OAC games after escaping Baldwin Wallace University with a 65-64 win on Wednesday. 

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 15th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Andy Bucheit, the reigning OAC Men's Basketball Coach of the Year, is in his ninth season as Heidelberg's head coach. The Student Princes finished last year's COVID-19-shortened season with a 9-3 record.

The Players: Jeffery Mansfield leads Wilmington in several statistical categories including points per game (16.4), rebounds per game (6.4) and assists per contest (4.4). Collmann Aaron and Anthony Freeman both score over seven points per contest while Aaron dishes out over two assists per 40 minutes. A trio of Student Princes - Dylan Woods, Emmanuel Perdue and Zane Leitwein - score in double figures with Woods leading the bunch at 14.3 points per game. Eric Panning grabs a team-best 8.1 rebounds a contest. 

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 68.2, Heidelberg 81.2; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 72.7, Heidelberg 72.8; field goal percentage – Wilmington 40.2, Heidelberg 46.8; three-point percentage – Wilmington 30.9, Heidelberg 33.4; free throw percentage – Wilmington 65.8, Heidelberg 74.9; rebounding margin – Wilmington -5.0, Heidelberg -0.6; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.95, Heidelberg 1.20.

Limited Spectators: The game is opened to a limited number of spectators - four individuals per WC student-athlete and a 50-person pass list for visiting teams

Recent History: Wilmington is 21-27 against Heidelberg since becoming an NCAA Division III member in the early 1990s. The Student Princes won the first meeting, 97-66, in Tiffin. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
