WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team looks to begin the New Year with a win as Capital University comes to Fred Raizk Arena for a 7 p.m. Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest on Tuesday evening.

The Teams: Wilmington and Capital. The Fightin' Quakers are 2-8 overall and looking to snap a six-game losing skid having most recently fallen to Lycoming College (Pennsylvania) 75-73 at the Mount Union Holiday Classic on Dec. 29. The Comets are 7-3 on the season, 2-1 in OAC play and most recently edged Olivet College 88-80 on Sunday.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 15th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Damon Goodwin, the winningest coach in Capital history, has been the Comets' head coach since the 1994-95 season.

The Players: Two-time First Team All-OAC selection Jeffery Mansfield leads Wilmington in several categories including scoring (14.9 points), rebounding (6.8 boards) and assists (4.5). Noah Dado also grabs 6.8 rebounds per 40 mintues while Dado, Collmann Aaron, Jayden Lewis and Anthony Freeman contribute over five points per game. A trio of Comets - David Sanford, Alex Eyink and Tyler Schreck - score in double figures while Schreck averages a double-double with 10.2 rebounds per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 68.9, Capital 79.3; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 74.5, Capital 70.1; field goal percentage – Wilmington 38.8, Capital 45.4; three-point percentage – Wilmington 29.0, Capital 38.8; free throw percentage – Wilmington 64.7, Capital 72.8; rebounding margin – Wilmington -3.1, Capital +3.8; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.94, Capital 1.40.

Spectator Policy: After the conclusion of the fall semester, Wilmington College updated its COVID-19 campus protocols. This includes no spectators until and including January 20th.
