Men's Basketball Hosts Otterbein in Regular Season Home Finale Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team hosts Otterbein University in the final regular season home game of the 2021-22 season on Wednesday. Tip-off for the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) is slated for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Otterbein. The Fightin' Quakers enter the matchup 5-17 overall and 3-13 in OAC games after a defeat at the hands of No. 2 Marietta College at home on Saturday. The Cardinals, who are having one of their best seasons in the last decade, stand at 16-6 and 10-5 after an 88-78 win over Heidleberg University at home on Saturday.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 15th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Andy Winters, formerly the top assistant at Capital University, is in his third season as Otterbein's head coach. 

The Players: Jeffery Mansfield, a two-time First Team All-OAC selection, leads Wilmington in scoring at 15.6 points per game while also assisting on over four of his teammates' baskets per game. Noah Dado, the team's leading rebounder (7.2) and 1-of-2 individuals, joining Mansfield, to grab at least six boards a game. A trio of Cardinals - Dallas Patrick, Cam Evans and Justin Carter - score in double figures with Patrick leading the way at 14.5 points per game. Reid Black joins Patrick as the two Otterbein individuals to grab at least five rebounds a game.
