Lewis & Pohlen Garner All-OAC Honors

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Wilmington College women's basketball fifth-year senior Kennedy Lewis and freshman Jada Pohlen earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) awards as the league unveiled its postseason awards on Thursday.

Lewis was 1-of-6 individuals conference-wide to be named First Team All-OAC while Pohlen was 1-of-9 to receive Honorable Mention All-OAC honors.

A native of Springboro and an alumna of Springboro High School, Lewis led the Quakers in several categories including scoring (11.6 points per game), rebounding (5.7 per contest) and assists (2.8 per game). She scored in double figures in 17 contests including a season-high 21 points in an overtime victory over Ohio Wesleyan University in the championship of the Fred Raizk Memorial Classic on Nov. 12. The Battling Bishops would go on to make the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Lewis, who is enrolled in the College's graduate program for Organizational Leadership, departs the program 12th in career points with 1,249 and fourth in career assists with 367. Also an Academic All-District selection from the College Sports Communicators, Lewis is receiving All-OAC honors for the third time in her career as she was named Honorable Mention All-OAC as a sophomore and Second Team All-OAC as a senior last season.

A native of Fairfield and an alumna of Badin High School, Pohlen was second on the team in scoring at 10.0 points per game along with grabbing 4.3 rebounds, assisted on 1.2 baskets, stole 1.6 passes and blocked 1.1 shots per contest. One of three freshman (alongside Samaree Perkins of Capital University and Ava Ryncarz of John Carroll University) to earn Honorable Mention All-OAC honors, Pohlen scored in double figures in 14 contests and finished top five in the OAC in steals and blocks per game.

Wilmington finished its 2022-23 season with a 14-12 overall record including an 8-10 mark in league games. The Quakers earned the No. 5 seed for the OAC Tournament where they fell at No. 4 Otterbein University 61-60 in a quarterfinal.
