WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team steps out of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play one final time in 2022-23 when rival Earlham College comes to Hermann Court for a 2 p.m. contest on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Earlham. The Fightin' Quakers enter the matchup with a 6-3 overall record having most recently defeated Heidelberg University 61-51 in come-from-behind fashion on Saturday. The Hustlin' Quakers are 1-7 on the season with the lone victory being a 58-55 triumph over Kenyon College on Nov. 30. Earlham most recently fell to Anderson University 79-70 at home on Saturday.

The Coaches: Wilmington is under the direction of third-year Head Coach Janel Blankespoor, who is in her fourth season with the program having been interim coach during the 2020-21 season and the program's top assistant the two years prior. The 2007 Otterbein College alumna spent stints at Mount Union and Earlham College before coming to Wilmington. Shanna Thompson, formerly an assistant at Illinois College and Bluffton University, is in her second season as Earlham's head coach.

The Players: Fifth-year senior Kennedy Lewis leads Wilmington in scoring (13.2 PPG), rebounding (5.8 RPG) and assists (3.1 APG) and averages over 30 minutes a contest. A quartet of Quakers - Zahrya Bailey, Jada Pohlen, Kyria Walker and Marisa Seiler - score at least a half-dozen points per game. Pohlen, who leads the team in made triples on the season with 13, is coming off of consecutive 15-point games. Earlham has two individuals - Amari Bradford and Jay Bright - who score in double figures with Bradford leading the way at 14.5 points per game. Alexis Gibson, who had 19 points and 19 rebounds in the loss to Anderson, grabs a team-best 7.1 boards per game.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 59.6, Earlham 55.8; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 56.6, Earlham 64.6; field goal percentage – Wilmington 33.9, Earlham 30.0; three-point percentage – Wilmington 23.5, Earlham 21.3; free throw percentage – Wilmington 77.6, Earlham 59.9; rebounding margin – Wilmington +3.7, Earlham -7.0; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.68, Earlham 0.50.
