WILMINGTON, Ohio - Zahrya Bailey poured in a career-high 20 points as the Wilmington College women's basketball team defeated Muskingum University 65-57 at Fred Raizk Arena on Wednesday evening.

That would prove to be the visitors' largest lead of the game. The hosts responded with a 7-0 run that included five straight points from Bailey and a steal and pair of free throws from Kennedy Lewis. Claudia Harrington, Muskingum's leading scorer, ended the half with a pull-up jumper as the team's went to their respective locker rooms tied 30-30.

Muskingum, which made seven triples in the first half, was held to just one in the second half. Just like the third quarter, the visitors scored the first basket of the fourth. After a timeout from Head Coach Janel Blankespoor, Brooke Stover found Kennedy Lewis for a layup. The two squads would trade baskets, but the Muskies never got the ball back with a chance to tie or take the lead. Leading 56-52, four straight points from Bailey sealed the game.

Wilmington finished 21-of-51 (41.2 percent) for the game, and despite making just three triples, converted 20-of-28 (71.4 percent) from the free throw line. Muskingum countered with an 18-of-53 (34.0) percent performance from the field, 8-of-25 (32.0 percent) from distance and 13-of-19 (68.4 percent). The Quakers held a 37-31 rebounding edge.
