WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team hosts Ohio Northern University for a 7 p.m. Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at Fred Raizk Arena on Thursday evening (postponed from Wednesday due to weather).

The Teams: Wilmington and Ohio Northern (ONU). The Quakers enter the game with a 10-7 overall record and a 4-6 mark in conference games after a 66-61 defeat to No. 12 Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday. The Polar Bears are 15-2 and 9-1 in the OAC after a 68-61 defeat at Marietta College over the weekend.

The Coaches: Wilmington is under the direction of third-year Head Coach Janel Blankespoor, who is in her fourth season with the program having been interim coach during the 2020-21 season and the program's top assistant the two years prior. The 2007 Otterbein College alumna spent stints at Mount Union and Earlham College before coming to Wilmington. Mark Huelsman is in his third season as ONU's head coach. He previously spent seven seasons as an assistant coach with the Polar Bear program and several as an assistant at WC.

The Players: Fifth-year senior Kennedy Lewis leads Wilmington in scoring at 12.9 points per game, dishes out over 3.1 assists per game and is second on the team in rebounding at 5.8 boards per contest. A pair of freshmen - Jada Pohlen and Marisa Seiler - score 9.3 and 8.6 points per game respectively with Seiler leading the team in reobunding at 6.1 rebounds per game. Senior guard Zahrya Bailey chips in 7.5 points per game off the bench. ONU gets over half of its scoring from three players as Brynn Serbin (14.3 PPG), Kristen Luersman (11.6 PPG) and Brooke Allen (10.8 PPG) combine for 59.7 percent of the team's points. Serbin averages 4.6 assists per game while Leursman grabs 8.7 rebounds a contest.
