WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's basketball team closes out a three-game homestand with Muskingum University on Wednesday evening. Tip-off from Fred Raizk Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum. The Quakers enter the contest with an 8-5 overall record, a 2-4 mark in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contests and looking to snap a two-game skid after a 66-63 defeat at the hands of preseason favorite Marietta College on Saturday. The Fighting Muskies are 4-9 overall and 1-5 in conference games having most recently lost to Baldwin Wallace University 65-43 at home on Saturday.

The Coaches: Wilmington is under the direction of third-year Head Coach Janel Blankespoor, who is in her fourth season with the program having been interim coach during the 2020-21 season and the program's top assistant the two years prior. The 2007 Otterbein College alumna spent stints at Mount Union and Earlham College before coming to Wilmington. Kelly Broderick is in her first season as Muskingum's head coach. She came to the conference after a four-year stint as head coach at Medaille University (New York).

The Players: Fifth-year senior Kennedy Lewis leads Wilmington in scoring at 13.1 points per game while also being 1-of-2 Quakers to grab over five rebounds a contest. She also dishes out 3.2 assists per game. Marisa Seiler, who scored a career-high 20 points in the the loss to the Pioneers, scores 8.3 points per game and joins Lewis in tallying over five rebounds per game. Jada Pohlen, Zahrya Bailey and Kyria Walker all score between 6-8 points per game. A trio of Muskies - Claudia Harrington, Taylor DeMassimo and Caitlyn DeMassimo - score in double figures for Muskingum with Harrington leading the team in rebounding at 5.7 boards per game. 

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 61.1, Muskingum 59.2; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 57.4, Muskingum 60.7; field goal percentage – Wilmington 35.2, Muskingum 41.7; three-point percentage – Wilmington 25.7, Muskingum 32.6; free throw percentage – Wilmington 77.8, Muskingum 75.5; rebounding margin – Wilmington +2.4, Muskingum -6.5; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 0.72, Muskingum 0.78.

Recent History: Wilmington is 43-7 against Muskingum since becoming an NCAA Division III member in the early 1990s. The Quakers are 9-1 against the Muskies in the last 10 meetings. More information can be viewed by visiting the link above.
