Softball Places Three on All-OAC Teams

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Wilmington College softball team had three individuals earn All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honors as the league unveiled its postseason awards on Monday. Judaea Wilson garnered Second Team All-OAC honors at second base while Hayley Suchland and Lindsey Carter were named Honorable Mention All-OAC.

Wilson, a freshman from Delaware, Ohio, led the Fightin' Quakers in batting average at a .389 clip as well as hitting a team-best 11 doubles, marking the fifth-most in a single season in program history, and scoring 26 runs. She drove in a dozen runs batting most often at the top of the order and stolen seven bases. Defensively, the Rutherford B. Hayes High School alumna carried a .927 fielding percentage and was a part of four doubles plays playing primarily at the hot corner with some second base sprinkled in.

Suchland, a senior from South Vienna, Ohio, hit .380 on the season with seven doubles, a home run, 17 RBIs and a team-best 10 stolen bases. A very reliable hitter, she struck out just four times in 108 at bats. Playing primarily shortstop on defense, Suchland carried a .945 fielding percentage and was a part of five double plays. She leaves the program with a career .358 batting average, 22 doubles and 68 RBIs.

Carter, a sophomore from Clarksville, Ohio, hit a .388 clip on the year with a team-best 20 RBIs to go along with 10 doubles, 23 runs scored and two home runs. She also aided WC in the circle, hurling 32 total innings with a 4.16 ERA. Carter won two games, one of which was a complete game, and tallied a single save. When not pitching, Carter could often be found flashing the leather in the outfield as the Clinton-Massie High School alumna had 34 putouts and committed just a single error.

Wilmington finished its 2022 campaign with a 13-19 overall record as well as a 6-12 mark in OAC contests.
