SERIES HISTORY

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College softball team opens Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play at Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday (note the date change). First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Baldwin Wallace (BW). The Fightin' Quakers are 6-4 on the season having started 0-4 and ending their spring break trip to Fort Myers, Florida, with six consecutive victories. The Yellow Jackets are 1-11 on the season with their lone victory being over Sul Ross State University in Tucson, Arizona. BW most recently lost two games to Geneva College (Pennsylvania) on Tuesday. 

The Coaches: Beth Floyd is in her 15th season as Wilmington's softball head coach. She is the winningest softball coach in school history and also heads the College's coaching minor. Floyd has led the Quakers to the program's first winning season with a 20-16 record in 2013. Tom Spencer, who has led BW to over 300 victories, is in his 17th season as the Yellow Jackets' head coach.

The Hitters: Wilmington featured a quartet of Quakers - Lindsey Carter, Mollie Moore, Hayley Suchland and Judaea Wilson - who hit over a .480 clip on the season. Carter leads the team in doubles (8) and RBIs (12) whiel Suchland has swiped a team-best six bases. Suchland is joined by Arianna Layne, Claire Scully and Bailey Hypes as the individuals who have hit home runs this season. Julia Gersey and Ashley Matousek both have a team-best 13 hits for BW. Gresey as the team's lone triple and home run while Matousek as driven in six runners.

The Pitchers: Wilmington has used a the trio of Alexis Stringfellow, Izzy Rothrock and Carter to pitch the majority of the team's innings through a quarter of the season. Stringfellow was hurled 25.2 innings and carries a 2.18 ERA with two complete-game victories while Rothrock has struck out 12 batters in her 14 innings. Nikki Camarati, the two-time OAC Pitcher of the Year, has hurled over half (36-of-71.2) of the Yellow Jacket innings in the circle. The junior has a 4.28 ERA and has struckout 60 batters thus far this season.
