Men's Track and Field Travels to Wittenberg

WILMINGTON, Ohio- The Wilmington College men's outdoor track and field team will travel to Wittenberg University to compete in the "Coach Rob" Invitational on Friday.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Student-Athletes to Watch: The throwing trio of Kalvin Butts, Joe Holcomb, and Joe Shuga led the team in last week's meet and will look to find success again this weekend. In the jumps, Pierce Burnam and Antone Truss found success in their first outdoor meet, and hope to better their distances. Burnam also led the team on the track, specifically in the hurdling events, and will look to do the same this weekend.
