WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's outdoor track and field team heads to Ohio Northern University on Friday to begin the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship Meet.

To participate in this meet, student-athletes must have met a qualifying standard in their event. Competition will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday and at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

In last year's event, the Fightin' Quakers finished seventh and will hope to improve their place of finish this year.

In the lineup, Pierce Burnam has the top seed in the 400-meter hurdles (53.22) and sits among the top-ten seeds in the 110-meter hurdles (15.49) and the triple jump (12.65m).

Antone Truss claims the top seed in the high jump (2.10m). He is also ranked sixth in the long jump (6.43m) and seventh in the triple jump (12.55m).

Kalvin Butts should also play a big role in the meet. He's got the first seed in the hammer throw (55.03m) and the fourth farthest mark in the discus throw (45.95m).

Also looking to make an impact is AJ Hightower who sits within the top-five times of two events, the 100-meter dash (10.96) and the 200-meter dash (22.12). He's also ranked tenth in the long jump (6.28m).

All of the Quaker relay teams - 4-x-100-meter, 4-x-400-meter, and 4-x-800-meter - should also bring in some points for the team as they're all currently ranked in the top eight.
