Men's Track and Field Takes Ninth at All-Ohio

DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's track and field team traveled to the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday. Of the 19 competing teams, the Fightin' Quakers finished ninth with 38 points.

AJ Hightower led the team on the track, earning second-place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.12. Hightower also placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.96.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Pierce Burnam placed eighth with a time of 15.76.

In the field events, Antone Truss and Kalvin Butts paved the way. Truss earned first-place in the high jump, clearing a height of 2.10 meters, and sixth place in the long jump with a distance of 6.43 meters.

Butts claimed first-place in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.36 meters and tenth-place in the discus throw with a heave of 41.22 meters.

Joe Holcomb rounded out the top-10 finishes for the Quakers, earning ninth place in the shot put with a toss of 14.31 meters.

Wilmington heads to the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio on Friday.
