WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's indoor track and field team heads to Capital University on Friday to begin the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship Meet.

To participate in this meet, student-athletes must have met a qualifying standard in their event. Competition will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday and at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

In last year's event, the Fightin' Quakers finished seventh and will hope to improve their place of finish this year.

In the lineup, Pierce Burnam sits among the top three seeds in the triple jump (12.58m), as well as the top-ten times in the 60-meter hurdles (8.62). Burnam is also ranked eighteenth in the 500-meters (1:10.74).

Kalvin Butts also claims a spot in amongst the top three seeds in the weight throw (17.67m).

AJ Hightower should also play a big role in the meet. He's got the eighth seed in the long jump (6.45m) and the thirteenth fastest time in the 60-meter dash (7.18).

Also looking to make an impact is Gino Hinton who is seeded fifth in the 60-meter dash (7.09).

Other top-twenty, individual seeds include Joe Holcomb who sits thirteenth in the shot put (14.52m) and twentieth in the weight throw (13.78m).

All of the Quaker relay teams - 4-x-200-meter, 4-x-400-meter, and the distance medley- should also bring in some points for the team as they're all currently ranked in the top eight.
