Men's Track and Field Seventh After Day One of OAC Indoor Championships

RESULTS AFTER DAY ONE

BEXLEY, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's indoor track and field team opened day one of the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship meet hosted by Capital University on Friday afternoon. At the conclusion of the first day of competition the Fightin' Quakers sit in seventh place with 11 points. Only one point separates them from eighth-place Capital University and the Quakers are within 10 points of fifth place. 

The top finisher this evening for the Quakers was Kalvin Butts in the weight throw. His heave of 16.89 meters earned third place, overall. 

AJ Hightower claimed fifth place in the long jump with a personal best distance of 6.66 meters. 

The distance medley relay composed of Gage Clemens, Adam Knaub, Elliott Phillimore and Cameron Phelps earned eighth with a time of 11:16.65. 

Eighteenth-place in the 5,000-meter run was taken by Cameron Erwin from a time of 17:06.25. 

The Quakers are back in action at 10 a.m. tomorrow for the remaining events of the meet.
