ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union hit a .323 clip while holding the Wilmington College volleyball team to a .010 attack percentage in a 25-11, 25-17, 25-16 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) victory on Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders forced the Fightin' Quakers to a negative hitting percentage in both the first and third sets. In set two, neither team led by more than two points until the hosts went on a 6-1 spurt up 14-13 and road that cushion to a set two victory.
A trio of Purple Raiders – Maria Ellesin, Heaven Bartell and Alexis Meyer – put down at least seven kills and hit over a .275 clip. Katie May and Mollie Thomas split setting duties, combining for 34 assists while Alyssa Kasaris joined Bartell to notch double-digit dig performances.
For Wilmington, three Quakers – Shelby Stoops, Sydney Geibel and Sofia Thomas – all had at least four kills. Andie Dolven assisted on 16-of-19 kills while Geibel added 13 digs.
The Quakers (3-18, 0-3 OAC) host nationally-ranked Ohio Northern University on Wednesday evening.
