Dietz Scores in Long Jump, Qualifies for 100-Meter Dash Finals

ALLIANCE, Ohio - Wilmington College women's track & field senior Madison Dietz scored in the long jump and advanced to the finals of the 100-meter dash for the Wilmington College women's track & field team on day one of the 2023 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Championships hosted by the University of Mount Union on Thursday.

The Waynesville High School alumna leaped 17' 2.75" in the long jump to finish in seventh place and earn the Quakers two points. She was also won her heat of the 100-meter dash by crossing the finish line in 12.40 seconds and will be seeded third for the finals tomorrow. Teammate Kylee Schafer will also appear in the finals after qualifying fifth with a time of 12.41 seconds.

Other competitors for Wilmington included Amy Myers in the discus (114' 9") and Kaitlyn Rauch in the 10,000-meter run (47:00.07). As a team, the Quakers are tied for ninth with two points. 

Day two of competition begins at 11 a.m. on Friday.
