Women's Track & Field to Compete at Baldwin Wallace for OAC Indoor Championships

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's track & field team heads to Cleveland, Ohio for the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Championships. Baldwin Wallace University will be the host as the team will compete at Harrison Dillard Track. 

The Schedule: On Friday, field events start off with pole vault, long jump and weight throw at noon with running events starting later at 4:30 p.m. with the 500-meter dash. On Saturday, field events get day two rolling with triple jump, shot put and high jump at 10:00 AM with running events following in the afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with the 800-meter relay. 

The Competition: The Quakers will compete against the other nine teams in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 25th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Kylee Schafer and Madison Dietz lead the way for the sprint squad as both compete in the 55-meter dash. Schafer is also slated to run in the 400-meter dash in the top-eight and Dietz in the long jump also in the top-eight. Amy Meyers, Lucy Trout, Molly Hafer, Abby Lodewyck, Camya Calloway and Megan Roell are all competing in the weight throw on Day One. The Quakers also have a distance medley relay squad of Julia Bystrom, Rach Spanfellner, Jaineen Smith and Kaitlyn Rauch.
