Women's Track & Field / Cross Country Places Five on CSC All-District Team

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's cross country and track & field teams had five individuals earn Academic All-District honors as the College Sports Communicators (formerly known as CoSIDA) announced the honorees on Wednesday, May 31. 

Sadie Devore, Molly Hafer, Abby Lodewyck, Megan Roell and Kylee Schafer garnered Academic All-District honors and will be on the ballot for a chance at becoming an Academic All-American. In order to qualify for nomination for Academic All-District, student-athletes must meet the following qualifications:

  • Sophomore athletically or higher
  • 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher
  • Been enrolled at the institution for at least one calendar year
  • Starter or key reserve

Devore, a junior agriculture and education double major from Dresden, finished the OAC Cross Country Championships with a time of 35:45.4. As a member of the track & field team, she competed in the mile (7:06.19) as well as a the pole vault. 

Hafer, a junior agriculture major from Marion, is a member of the WC throws squad. She competed in the weight throw indoors (37' 1") and the hammer throw outdoors (126' 6'").

Lodewyck, a junior education and English double major from Mason, is a member of the WC throws squad. She competed in the weight throw indoors (42' 11") and the hammer throw outdoors (147' 1").

Roell, a junior agriculture major from Camden, is a member of the WC throws squad. She competed in the weight throw indoors (40' 4.24") as well as the discus and hammer throw (125' 10") outdoors.

Schafer, a junior agriculture major from Springfield, competed in sprinting events throughout the year. She finished ninth in the 400-meter dash indoors (1:03.41) as well as being part of the Quakers' 4-x-200-meter relay squad that scored. At the OAC Outdoor Championships, Schafer narrowly missed All-OAC honors in two events, placing fourth in the 200-meter dash (25.64 seconds) and fifth in the 100-meter dash (12.41 seconds).

Wilmington's OAC finishes for the 2022-23 academic year were as follows: ninth in cross country, 10th in indoor track & Field and ninth in outdoor track & field.
