BEREA, Ohio - Madison Dietz finished eighth place in the long jump to highlight the Wilmington College women's track & field team's performance on day one of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Championships on Friday.
The senior from Waynesville leaped 16' 4.5" to score the Quakers a point in the event. Dietz, alongside teammate Kylee Schafer, also narrowly missed qualifying for the finals of the 55-meter dash as the Quaker duo finished 10th (7.46 seconds) and 11th (7.53 seconds) respectively. Schafer was also just a single spot from appearing in the final of the 400-meter dash, placing ninth in preliminaries by crossing the finish line in 1:03.41.
Wilmington had six individuals compete in the weight throw with Camya Calloway's 15th-place heave of 41' 8" leading the way.
The Quakers are in 10th place after day one with day two of competition slated to begin at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday).
