WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's track & field team opens up the 2022-2023 indoor season at Wittenberg. The Quakers will attend the Wittenberg Tiger Collegiate Open for the third straight season of competition to kick off the season.      

The Schedule: Field events start at 11:00 AM with men's weight throw, women to follow. Running events shoot off at 12:30 with the women's 60-meter hurdles, men to follow. 

The Competition: The Quakers will compete against a handful of collegiate teams, including Wittenberg, Cedarville and Thomas Moore.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 25th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Kylee Schafer and Rachel Spanfellner will take on the 400-meter dash to start the indoor season. Madison Dietz looks to have another successful year as she is listed at the top of the group in long jump this weekend. The women's throw squad will be led by Lexi Grice and Abby Lodewyck
