Women's Track & Field Opens 2023 Outdoor Season at Centre College

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's track & field team travels to Centre College in Kentucky to open the 2023 outdoor season as a team. The women's team has not had an athlete compete outdoors yet this season. 

The Schedule: Field events open up at 9:00 am with long jump while track events shoot-off at 10 am led by the 10,000-meter run.  

The Competition: The Quakers will compete against other teams in the NCAA. 

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 25th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Madison Dietz looks to carry her senior campaign outdoors as she will compete in the pit. Kylee Schafer will join Dietz on the track as both had solid indoor bouts in the sprint events. Camya Calloway, Megan Roell and Abby Lodewyck will lead the way for the throwers as all three competed at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) indoor championships.
