SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's track & field team had four top-eight finishes at the Tiger Open hosted at Wittenberg University's Steemer Center on Saturday.
The season-opening event for the indoor squad did not feature team scores.
In field events, Madison Dietz finished runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 16' 10.75". The senior also competed in the 60-meter dash on the day, placing 11th in the event. Lexi Grice placed sixth in the weight throw with a heave of 44' 0" and also took 16th in the shot put.
In track events, Kylee Schafer accounted for both of WC's top-eight finishes as the sophomore took eighth in the 60-meter dash (8.20 seconds) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (26.86 seconds).
Wilmington returns to action at the MSJ Invitational on Jan. 21, 2023.
