Wrestling Heads North to Ohio Northern Invitational on Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College wrestling team heads up Interstate 75 to Ada for the 40th annual Ohio Northern Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University (ONU) on Saturday. Matches are slated to begin at 9 a.m.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by host ONU another with a plethora of other NCAA Division III institutions - Adrian College, Alma College, Defiance College, Heidelberg University, Hiram College, Lycoming College, Mount St. Joseph University, Muskingum University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Olivet College and Otterbein University. Tiffin University represents the lone NCAA Division II school competing. 

The Coaches: Justin Kihn enters his fourth season as the Head Coach for the Quakers. Kihn comes to Wilmington after graduating and being an assistant coach at Heidelberg University. As an athlete, Kihn was Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Wrestler of the Year his senior year, as well as Academic All-American and Division III All-American. He finished fourth nationally (in the 141-pound weight class) at the NCAA Championships.

The Wrestlers: Wilmington has several wrestlers scheduled to compete in weight classes with at least one victory this season: Tyerl Woods (149-pound), Trey Williams (165-pound), Alex Hobbs (174-pound), Skyler Cowgill (184-pound), Shadrach Brausch (285-pound) and Derrick Davidson (285-pound).
