Wrestling Wins Four Weight Classes in OAC Loss to Muskingum

RESULTS

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Wilmington College wrestling team opened the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) portion of its schedule with a 33-18 defeat at Muskingum University inside the Anne M. Steele Center on Tuesday evening.

The Fightin' Quakers won four of the seven weight classes there was a match. Shadrach Brausch defeated Andrew McFee via fall in 2:05 at the 285-pound weight class while Alex Hobbs to 6:06 to dispatch Carter Layton via fall at the 174-pound weight class. Wilmington's two other wins came courtesy of decision. Trey Williams beat Deric Ellyson 6-2 in the 165-pound matchup while Skyler Cowgill bested Tate Sterling 4-0 in the 184-pound weight class.

The Fighting Muskies won in part to claiming the three lightweight classes via forfeit. Two of the other three Muskingum wins came in falls of under 2:15 and one decision victory.

Wilmington (0-1) heads to the Baldwin Wallace Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace University this weekend.
