Wrestling to Host John Carroll in OAC Dual on Tuesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College wrestling team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) competition with a home dual meet against John Carroll University on Tuesday. Matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and John Carroll (JCU). This dual will be the Fightin' Quakers' second of the season as the squad fell to Muskingum University 33-18 to open the conference season on Nov. 16. Most recently, WC took eighth place at the Baldwin Wallace University Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 20.  The Blue Streaks are 2-1 in dual matches on the season with wins over Otterbein University (34-9) and Mount St. Joseph University (37-9) and a narrow defeat (21-20) at the hands of Lourdes University on Nov. 21. 

The Coaches: Justin Kihn enters his fourth season as the Head Coach for the Quakers. Kihn comes to Wilmington after graduating and being an assistant coach at Heidelberg University. As an athlete, Kihn was Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Wrestler of the Year his senior year, as well as Academic All-American and Division III All-American. He finished fourth nationally (in the 141-pound weight class) at the NCAA Championships. Mark Hawald, the National Coach of the Year in 2011, is in his seventh season as JCU's head coach.
