Three Program Records Fall at Fast Chance Invitational Saturday

(GAMBIER, Ohio) – It was the final day of competition for the Wilmington College men's swimming team this afternoon at the Fast Chance Invitational, hosted by Kenyon College. The Quakers broke three program records in an unscored meet.

The Quakers team of John Good, Cameron Bolen, Sondre Haugen, and Joakim Pedersen swam a time of 1:33.61 to finish third in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and break the previous program record of 1:34.93. The former record was set during the 2013-14 season.

Haugen broke the program record in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 51.69 to finish 13th overall. The previous record was 52.08, set by Isak Alin during the 2019-20 season.

Also breaking a program record for the Quakers was Joakim Pedersen in the 100 Yard IM. He finished second in the race with a 52.64 to smash the previous record of 55.11, set by Alin during the 2018-19 season. Haugen also swam well during the same race, finishing third with a time of 54.06.

Bolen swam the 50 Yard Freestyle Time Trial and finished sixth with a time of 20.97 seconds. He also swam in the 100 Yard Freestyle and finished 10th with a time of 46.86.

Swimming well in the 200 Yard Freestyle Time Trial for the Quakers were Haugen and Austin Reed. Haugen finished fifth with a time of 1:42.72, while Reed was right behind him in sixth at 1:44.46. Pedersen also swam well in the 100 Yard Butterfly Time Trial, finishing fifth with a time of 52.09 seconds.

The Quakers season concludes with this meet. They will be back in competition during the fall of 2024.
