Bolen Wins 100 Yard Breaststroke; Four Quakers Compete in 'A' Finals on Day Three at OAC Championships

(AKRON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College men's swimming team completed day three at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Swimming & Diving Championships in fifth place with 242 points.

In the finals Friday night, the Quakers had four swimmers in the 'A' finals and two swimmers in the 'B' finals. A pair of Quakers finished in the top-two of events with senior Cameron Bolen taking home the OAC title in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 56.22 seconds, which is a new program record. Bolen went into the finals having swam a time of 57.22 in the prelims. He beats the old record of Isak Alin's 56.97 during the 2019-20 season. This is Bolen's first OAC title.

Sondre Haugen finished second in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:42.33 after a 1:43.37 in the prelims. Austin Reed also competed in the 200 Yard Freestyle 'A' finals for the Quakers, finishing sixth at 1:43.68 after swimming a 1:43.89 in the prelims.

The last Quaker to compete in the 'A' finals was Joakim Pedersen in the 100 Yard Backstroke. He swam a 52.75 in the prelims to get there and finished seventh in the finals at 52.99 seconds.

John Good swam in the 'B' finals of the 100 Yard Backstroke after a 52.98 in the prelims, he finished first in the 'B' final and ninth overall with a time of 52.65 seconds, which would have placed him seventh in the 'A' finals.

Adam Moneypenny was in the 'B' finals of the 400 Yard IM, where he finished fourth at 4:29.98 and 12th overall after a 4:32.58 in the prelims.

The Quakers compete in the final day of the OAC Championships tomorrow, beginning with the prelims at 10:00 A.M. A senior day celebration takes place at 5:30 P.M. before the finals at 5:45 P.M.
