Sondre Haugen Named OAC Swimmer of the Week for Performance vs. Manchester

(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – After winning three individual events Saturday afternoon, and helping Wilmington to a 151-98 victory over Manchester University, Quakers sophomore Sondre Haugen has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Swimmer of the Week. This is the first time he has earned this honor in his career.

Haugen started his day in the 100 SC Meter Butterfly, winning with a time of 1:01.07, over three seconds better than Manchester's Parker York. His next event was the 50 SC Meter Butterfly, in which he won at 27.29, just over a second faster than York. He then swam the 200 SC Meter IM in 2:19.87, besting Michael DeBartolo of Manchester by nearly 11 seconds. His final swim of the afternoon came as the anchor on the Quakers 200 SC Meter Freestyle Relay team. He finished his lap in 26.14 seconds as Wilmington won the relay handily at 1:42.07.

Haugen will be back in the pool this weekend at the Corbiere-Merion Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio on Saturday and Sunday. The action starts both days at 10:00 A.M.
