CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Wilmington College volleyball team concluded the Charlie Wrublewski Tournament hosted by Mount St. Joseph University with a pair of defeats at the hands of Greenville University and Manchester University on Saturday. The Panthers defeated the Fightin' Quakers 3-0 (25-14. 25-22. 25-17) in match one and fell to the Spartans 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-15) in match two.

In the match with Greenville, the Panthers hit over a .200 clip in each of the three sets while holding the Fightin' Quakers to under that mark in all three sets. Sofia Thomas finished with a team-high nine kills while Andie Dolven dished out 19 assists. Both Blake O'Brien and Macee Hamilton finished with a dozen digs for the Wilmington back line. For Greenville, Sacoora Patton, Payten Morris, Jasmin Smith all had double digits in kills.

In the match with Manchester, both teams lit up the court offensively in the first set as the Quakers put down 18 kills with three errors (.500) and the Spartans tallied 17 kills and also had three errors (.438). It was Wilmington that came away with the set, however, as Thomas put down a ball on set point. Unfortunately for Wilmington, history repeated itself as the Quakers, just like match No. 2 on Friday, fell in the final three sets.

Dolven averaged over 10 assists per set in the match while O'Brien added a 24-dig performance. Thomas once again led the front row with 15 kills, and Shelby Stoops and Joy Bebe chipped in nine and seven kills respectively.

A trio of Spartans - Joy Maze, Sara Shultz and Samantha Campbell - all tallied double digits in kills while Jordan Holland and Carly Ripberger shared the setting duties and combined for 44 assists.

Wilmington (2-6) heads to Earlham College for the Quaker Bowl Rivalry on Tuesday.
