Volleyball Looks for Winning Streak with Road Match at Wooster on Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College volleyball team faces its first road test of the season on Wednesday at the College of Wooster. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Wooster. The Fightin' Quakers enter the match with a 2-1 record after sweeping Defiance College on Monday evening. The Fighting Scots are 3-2 and riding a three-match winning streak.

The Coaches: A new era of Wilmington volleyball has arrived Sophie Windover, a former collegiate player and assistant at Heidelberg University, takes over as head coach. She helped guide the Student Princes to a 21-8 record and an appearance in the AVCA Top 25 Poll. Sarah Davis, the winningest volleyball coach in Wooster history with over 200 victories, is in her 15ths season as the Scots' head coach.

The Players: Through a pair of matches, Sofia Thomas leads Wilmington offense averaging 3.40 kills per set while four other Quakers – Sydney Geibel, Joy Bebe, Victoria Long and Christina Yarian – all put down over a kill per set. Freshman setter Andie Dolven dishes out over seven assists per set while libero Blake O'Brien leads the back row to the tune of 4.90 digs per set. Hayley Nash puts down four kills per set for Wooster while Syd Case assists on over 10 kills per set. In the Scots' back row, Sydney Fitzcharles averages 5.39 digs per set.

Series History: Wilmington has not played Wooster in at least the last decade.
