WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College volleyball team returns to the floor of Fred Raizk Arena on Monday for a Labor Day match with Defiance College. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Defiance. The Fightin' Quakers enter the match with a 1-1 record on the year after splitting a tri-match with a victory over the University of Northwestern Ohio and a loss to Midway University on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets are 1-2 overall and also split a tri-match last time in action, defeating Anderson University and falling to DePauw University, both in four sets.

The Coaches: A new era of Wilmington volleyball has arrived Sophie Windover, a former collegiate player and assistant at Heidelberg University, takes over as head coach. She helped guide the Student Princes to a 21-8 record and an appearance in the AVCA Top 25 Poll. Brie Brenner, a native of Defiance and former All-PAC 12 player at the University of Washington, is in her 10th season leading the Yellow Jacket program. She has a 112-109 record.

The Players: Through a pair of matches, Sofia Thomas leads Wilmington offense averaging 3.29 kills per set while three other Quakers – Sydney Geibel, Joy Bebe and Victoria Long – all put down over a kill per set. Freshman setter Andie Dolven dishes out over seven assists per set while libero Blake O'Brien leads the back row to the tune of 3.14 digs per set. Kayla Boettger and Mackenzie Benham both put down over two kills per set while the duo of Brianna Wheeler and Kendra Kline share the setting duties and assist on over 10 kills per set. Tre'Ana King averages nearly six digs per set in the Yellow Jacket back row.

Series History: Wilmington is winless in two matches against Defiance in the last decade.
