Women's Soccer Lands Four On All-Conference Team

(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced their 2023 women's soccer All-Conference performers this morning and Wilmington had four athletes represented. These four are senior defender Haley Fulton, sophomore forward Alex Wilson, sophomore midfielder Madison VanSuch, and sophomore midfielder Jada Pohlen.

This is Fulton's second season in a row being named to the Third Team. She scored her third career goal this season for the Quakers, which was the first goal of the season for Wilmington in a 4-2 win at Earlham College on September 1st. She was an anchor for the Quakers defense that allowed the third fewest goals in the conference (20) and allowed three goals in a game just one time all season. Their goals allowed average of 1.08 was fourth in the conference.

Wilson is being honored for the second season in a row, after being named to the First Team last year and the Co-Freshman of the Year with John Carroll University's Emily Patrzyk. Wilson led the team in points (18), goals (7), assists (4), shots (90), and shots on goal (47). Her best games of the season, points wise, came at the start of the season. She had a goal and an assist at Earlham on September 1st and scored a goal and dished out two assists in Williams Stadium against Bethany College (W.V.) in a 5-2 win on September 3rd.

This is the first conference honor of VanSuch's career. She scored the second goal of her career this season, coming in the third game of the year at home against Franklin College in a 3-0 win on September 6th. She was also a big part of the Quakers solid defense all season long.

Pohlen was also an All-Conference honoree for the first time in her Quakers career. She matched her 2022 total with six points this season, scoring two goals and dishing out a pair of assists. Her two goals came in the first two games of the season, with one against Earlham College and the other against Bethany College (W.V.). She also had an assist against Bethany. Her final point of the season came on a beautiful assist from the right post to Elizabeth Matthews to tie the game  at 1-1 against the University of Mount Union on October 21st, before the Quakers eventually won the game 2-1.
