Women's Soccer Starts Homecoming Weekend With 1-0 Win Over Anderson

*Story by Alex

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team is now 6-1 after they defeated the Anderson Ravens by a final score of 1-0. Alex Wilson scored an unassisted goal in the first half to give the Quakers a lead they would not give up.

Sophomore Alex Wilson was electric as she weaved her way through the Anderson defense all night. She had a game high 10 shots, five of those shots were on goal, and one of those shots was the games only goal. Shannon Jamieson contributed four shots to the Quaker total as they outshot Anderson 21-7. Anderson made a spirited rally late in the second half but goalkeeper Emma Storck stood strong and made several key defensive plays to preserve Wilmington's slim 1-0 margin of victory.

Up next the Quakers will host Depauw on Tuesday, September 26 at 7:00.
