Women's Soccer Falls to Capital in OAC Action Wednesday Night

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) - The Wilmington women's soccer team lost at home Wednesday night to the Capital University Comets, 2-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play. The Quakers fall to 7-3-1 overall and 0-2 in OAC play.

Capital nearly put a goal on the board in the second minute with a Lexi Snider shot off the right post. Ten minutes later and they would score after a great cross from Snider into the box found Grace Estes whose shot hit the right post and trickled into the net to make it 1-0 Comets at 11:37 in the contest. Wilmington had several opportunities in the first half, with 12 shots including a Haley Fulton chip shot that almost floated over the keeper into the back of the net. The score would remain at 1-0 heading into the halftime break.

The second half was more of the same for the Quakers as they took 11 shots and had several good looks, but couldn't find a goal. Unfortunately after a great save by Emma Storck, they scored on themselves off the deflection in the 79th minute. They added five more shots down the stretch, but would fall 2-0.
