Women's Basketball Falters on the Road at Baldwin Wallace Saturday

(BEREA, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's basketball team struggled on the road Saturday afternoon, losing to the Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jackets, 72-45. The Quakers had a pair of quarters where they scored under 10 points and were unable to make up the deficit. Cassidy Lovett led the team with 14 points, while ZahKyria Walker had 13 for the Quakers. They move to 5-17 overall this season and 3-13 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). They will play their final home game of the season on Wednesday night against the Ohio Northern University Polar Bears.

The Quakers fell behind out of the gate, as the Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 12-2 lead. The score would sit at 16-6 after the first period. The Quakers were unable to get within nine points in the second quarter and went down 31-19 at the half.

Baldwin Wallace outscored Wilmington 24-8 in the third quarter. Despite the deficit, Wilmington played hard over the final 10 minutes and outscored the Yellow Jackets 18-17. Lovett and Walker each had five points in the final period of action.

The Quakers play their final game at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court Wednesday night against the Ohio Northern University Polar Bears at 7:00 P.M.

They will be looking for a series split after dropping the contest in Ada, Ohio on January 17th.
