(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's basketball team cruised past the Capital University Comets in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play Wednesday night in Hermann Court. The Quakers outscored the Comets 25-11 in the second quarter and never looked back as they moved to 5-12 overall this season and 3-8 in the OAC.
A 7-0 start for the Comets forced a Quakers timeout with 6:45 to play in the first quarter. Wilmington answered right back with a 7-0 run of their own to tie the game at 7-7. A couple of late free throws from Keetyn Hupp gave Wilmington an 11-9 lead after the first period.
Capital took an early 14-13 lead in the second quarter, but a 15-1 run followed for the Quakers to give them a 28-15 advantage with 4:25 to play in the half. Natalie Rupp led the charge with six points. The Quakers continued to crush the Comets over the final minutes of the half and took a 36-20 lead into halftime.
In a low scoring second half, Wilmington outscored the Comets 18-16 to come away with their victory.

- The Quakers held the Comets to under 10 points in three quarters of the game (nine in the first, nine in the third, and seven in the fourth).
- 36 points is the fewest Wilmington has allowed in a game since they held the Mount Union Purple Raiders to 35 in a 56-35 victory at Mount Union on January 28, 2017.
