Women's Track & Field to Compete at Steemer Showcase

WILMINGTON, Ohio - WThe Wilmington College women's track and field team will travel to Wittenberg for the Steemer Showcase at the brand new track named "The Steemer." After a solid performance last weekend, the team is excited to run with great mid-season competition. 

The Schedule: Field events take off at 11:00 a.m. with track events running at noon. 

The Teams: The Quakers will be met by at least a dozen other schools, including teams within the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). 

The Coach: Ron Combs continues his 24th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Coming off of two solo victories last week, Madison Dietz is doubling in long jump and triple jump again. Milena Wahl, who also took first place in two events last weekend, will be running in the 5000-meter run with as many as 25 athletes entered. Rounding out the squad is Kayli Sullivan competing in the weight throw and shot put, both of which she won last week.
