@DubC_XCTR women fourth at Night Moves

The Wilmington College women's track and field team finished fourth in the 10-team "Night Moves" Invitational Friday at Williams Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior Marissa Bolen (Gibsonburg, OH/Gibsonburg) brought home the lone victory for the women, winning the shot put (13.05 meters). She added a pair of third place finishes in the discus (37.41) and the hammer (38.05). Both distances were the top Division III marks in the event.
  • Freshman Calla Henry (Connersville, IN/Connersville) was sixth in the shot put (29.71).
  • Freshman Cierra Johnson (Cincinnati, OH/Fairfield) scored in two individual field events, placing fourth in the long jump (4.74) and fifth in the triple jump (9.32). She was joined by freshman Brooklyn Payne (Chicago, IL/Agricultural School), sophomore Ashley Lovett (Washington Court House, OH/Senior) and junior Angela Dorsett (Pittsburgh, PA/West Mifflin) to placed second in the 4x100 (57.28).
  • The other three members of the 4x100 also scored in other events. Dorsett was third in the triple jump (9.35), Payne fourth in the 200 (27.23) and Lovett third in the 400 hurdles (1:08.33).
  • Freshman Sarah Pierce (New Carlisle, OH/Dominion Academy) was fifth in the 3000 steeplechase (13:39.52).

The Fightin' Quakers are hosting the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference outdoor track and field championships.
