Lovett, Bolen claim OAC titles

Two Wilmington College women's track and field athletes took home Ohio Athletic Conference championships as the Fightin' Quakers finished eighth in the 2016 OAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Wilmington College at Beckett Track in Williams Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior Marissa Bolen (Gibsonburg, OH/Gibsonburg) posted the fifth-best distance nationally in winning the shot put (13.92).
  • Sophomore Ashley Lovett (Washington Court House, OH/Senior) just three weeks into her hurdling career claimed the 400 meter hurdles (1:05.50). Her winning time was more than three seconds faster than her seeding time, and a half second faster than her preliminary time.
  • Two athletes – Angela Dorsett (Pittsburgh, PA/West Mifflin) and Cierra Johnson (Cincinnati, OH/Fairfield) – scored in the triple jump. Dorsett was sixth (10.45 meters) and Johnson was eighth (10.29 meters).
  • Lovett, Johnson, Dorsett and Brooklyn Payne (Chicago, IL/Chicago Agricultural School) placed sixth in the 4x100 relay (50.96).
