Women's Swimming Finishes Fourth at OWU Invitational

RESULTS

DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's swimming team posted seven top-eight finishes on day two of the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational on Sunday.

Five individuals earned seventh-place finishes including Fynn Roberts in the 100-yard IM (1:09.80), Macki Leon in the 400-yard IM (5:03.21) and Hannah Davis in the 50-yard freestyle (26.82 seconds). Additionally, two Fightin' Quakers - Alyssa Harper and Margaret Hover - took sixth (19:42.29) and seventh (19:50.30) respectively in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

Two Wilmington relay teams earned top-eight finishes on Sunday as well. Kadie Grundy, Rebecca Curran, Anna Endsley and Ashley Carlson swam a time of 4:41.35 in the 400-yard medley relay that earned a seventh-place finish while Endsley, Carlson, Olivia Bender and Audrey Holt took eighth (1:55.66) in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

"The team had a great three sessions and swam as fast as they did being unrested," Head Women's Swimming Coach Trip Breen said. "We still have a lot to work to do as we prepare for the second half of the season, but after this weekend, I am excited about the process."

As a team, the Quakers finished fourth with 463 total points.

Wilmington returns to the pool for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) dual meet with the University of Mount Union on the road on Jan. 18, 2020.
