Men's Track & Field Braves Weather at Cedarville Invitational

RESULTS

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's track & field team battled Mother Nature and the competition at the windy and rainy Cedarville University Invitational on Saturday.

The Fightin' Quakers had a pair of dual-sport athletes tie in the long jump as both Luke Richardson and Colin Myers jumped 21' 2 ¾" to tie for fourth place. Joe Shuga also scored points for Wilmington's field events as the sophomore hurled the discus 104' and a fifth-place finish.

George Rickett represented Wilmington distance runners by finishing the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:52.09, good for fourth place. Elorm Dogbey placed second in his heat of the 400-meter dash and finished sixth overall in the event.

Wilmington also had three individuals score points in the 100-meter dash. Adam Knaub (11.35 seconds), Aaron Koch (11.42 seconds) and Richardson (11.47 seconds) placed seventh, ninth and 10th respectively.

"We did a nice job of battling some difficult conditions," Head Men's Track & Field Coach Ron Combs said. "I'm happy that everyone came out of the meet healthy.

As a team, the Quakers finished in ninth place with 28 points as well as placing third among NCAA Division III schools in attendance. Wilmington continues its outdoor season at the Heidelberg University Invitational.
