Men's Track & Field Heads to Cedarville for Invitational Friday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's track and field team heads to Cedarville University for the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational on Friday, Feb. 1. Field events are slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. with track events starting up at 5:15 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by host Cedarville along with Miami University (Ohio), Wright State University, Ohio Dominican University, Wittenberg University and Georgetown College (Kentucky).

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 19th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Both Josh Cyrus and Evan Brandon finished in the top eight of the 1,000-meter run at Capital University last weekend. Adam Knaub also represented the Fightin' Quakers well with a sixth-place finish (7.28 seconds) in the 60-meter dash. Additionally, Wilmington's distance medley relay squad of Evan Whitaker, Elorm Dogbey, Taton Bertsch and Cameron Phelps finished second with a time of 11:39.15.
