Men's Track & Field Continues Indoor Season at Rick Meindl Last Call on Friday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's track and field team continues its indoor season at the Rick Meindl Last Call Meet hosted by Capital University on Friday. Field events are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. with running events slated to start at 4:30 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by host Capital along with other Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) members in Marietta College and Muskingum University will also be in attendance. Several other non-NCAA Division III institutions will compete in the meet. They include Ohio Christian University, Ohio Dominican University, Midway University, University of Rio Grande, Kentucky Christian University and Georgetown College (Kentucky).

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 19th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Adam Knaub has been Wilmington's top sprinter in the 55-meter, 60-meter and 200-meter dashes while Evan Whitaker has the Fightin' Quakers' top times in the mile run, 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter distance races. In field events, Joe Shuga has the top marks in both the shot put and weight throw.
