BATAVIA, Ohio - The Wilmington College volleyball team swept the University of Cincinnati Clermont College (UC Clermont) 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 26-24) on Tuesday evening. The victory was the Fightin' Quakers' four straight win, marking the longest winning streak for the program in at least six seasons.
Karrah Wind led Wilmington offensively with 10 kills while Amber Rox had eight. Mariella Szrom tallied six kills on 11 attack attempts while Meghan Koch finished with five terminations. Jacie Koontz and Summer Wilbur both had 18 assists and combined to assist on all but two of the Quakers' kills on the evening.
Defensively, Karley Schlensker led the back row in digs with 18 while Jillian Wesco and Wilbur added 14 and 13 digs respectively. In the front row, Morgan Loomis tallied three solo blocks.
Statistics for UC Clermont were not available.
Wilmington improved to 5-12 overall with the victory and opens Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play at Heidelberg University on Saturday. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
