WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College volleyball team held Central State University to a negative hitting percentage in a 25-11, 25-18, 25-10 sweep of the Marauders at Hermann Court on Thursday evening.

The win snaps a seven-match losing streak for the Fightin' Quakers.

"We put all facets of the game together tonight," Head Coach Tim O'Brien said. "We communicated well when we were out of system and offensively, the team was aggressive and made smart decisions."

Wilmington won the first and third sets in convincing fashion as the Quakers hit .306 and .344 in those sets respectively. Central State led early in set two, but a 13-2 run thanks to long service runs from Summer Wilbur and Karley Schlensker shut down the possibility of the match going four sets.

The Quakers hit a .235 clip as a team compared to a -.022 for the Marauders. Wilmington also held a 10-3 edge in service aces and made four blocks as a team while Central State had none.

Individually, Taylor McCuistion led everyone with nine kills while Amber Rox turned in eight on 22 attack attempts. Wilbur dishedout 24 assists while Schlensker, McCuistion and Jillian Wesco all recorded double digits in digs. Morgan Loomis chipped in five kills, a .231 attack percentage and two solo blocks.

Deja Clark led Central State with seven kills while Desiree Howard had six.

Wilmington (2-12) hosts St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and Boyce College for a tri-match on Saturday.
