Volleyball Falls at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Wilmington College volleyball team could not stop the Muskingum University attack as the Fighting Muskies tallied 53 kills and a .344 attack percentage in a 25-14, 25-19, 25-11 victory over the Fightin' Quakers in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action on Tuesday evening.

Muskingum (18-2, 2-0 OAC) hit over .290 in all three sets including a .400 clip in set two. Wilmington (5-14, 0-2 OAC) did tally 12 kills on 34 attack attempts and just three errors for a .265 attack percentage in set two.

Brooke Fatheree and Brynn Guist both reached double figures in kills for Muskingum while Miranda Plumly and Kaitlin Goedde had eight and seven kills respectively. Karrah Wind led Wilmington offensively with eight kills and a .240 attack percentage.

Erin Dickson led the setting department with 34 assists for the Muskies. The Quakers featured a balanced effort at the setting positions as six individuals recorded multiple assists.

Defensively, Jessica Cottle and Fatheree combined for 35 digs for Muskingum. Wilmington countered with 13 digs from Karley Schlensker and 11 from Wilbur.

Wilmington continues OAC play by facing the University of Mount Union on Saturday. First serve is slated for 3 p.m.
