Women's Track & Field in Seventh After Day One at OAC Outdoor Championships

(TIFFIN, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women's outdoor track & field team competed on day one at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships today. The meet is hosted by Heidelberg University. They finished the day in seventh place with 10 points.

The 10 points for Wilmington came from sophomore Faith Duncan, who crushed the competition in the 10,000 Meter Run, winning with a time of 37:26.41. Second place in the event finished in 38:11.84. Duncan earned First Team All-OAC with this performance.

Also having a solid day for Wilmington was Haley Cook, who qualified for the finals in both the 200 and 400 Meter Dash. She ran personal best times in both events. In the 400, she was fourth with a time of 58.80, and in the 200, she just snuck into the finals in eighth place at 26.16. She edged out Marietta College's Michaela Hieronymus, who ran a 26.21.

The 100 Meter Dash prelims saw a pair of heartbreakers for the Quakers. Both Kylee Schafer and Rachel Spanfellner just missed out on the top eight finals, finishing ninth and 10th, respectively. Schafer ran a time of 12.70, while Spanfellner ran a personal best time of 12.82.

What's Up Next

The Quakers will be back at it tomorrow for the final day of the OAC Championships. Field events begin at 11:00 A.M. while track events start at 2:30 P.M.
